It’s my pleasure to share that All India Management Association Centre for Management Education (AIMA CME) awards Diplomas to candidates and recognizes meritorious students in its Annual Convocation.

75TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT TODAY.
The nation is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Quit India Movement today. Initiating a special discussion in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to take pledge to honestly work to fight poverty and malnutrition in the country.
He said, the menace of corruption has adversely impacted the country’s developmental journey and it has eaten our polity from inside.
The Prime Minister said, from 2017 to 2022, when India turns 75, there is a need to create the same spirit that existed from 1942 to 1947. Saying, in 1942, clarion call was Karenge Ya Marenge, Mr Modi said, it is Karenge Aur Kar Ke Rahenge.

Mr Modi said, remembering special occasion like anniversary of Quit India movement gives people of India strength as a nation. He said, the country’s freedom was not only about India but also it was a defining moment in bringing an end to colonialism in other parts of the world too. The Prime Minister said, the Quit India movement marked the rise of a new leadership and they supported Mahatma Gandhi during the movement.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi said, during the freedom struggle, Pandit Nehru spent several years in jail and many Congress workers died in jail. She said, a lot of atrocities were committed on the protesters, but no one stepped back. She said today it seems there is a threat to country’s secular, liberal and free thinking.
Earlier, the House paid tributes to the freedom fighters those who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Speaker Sumitra Mahajan remembered the glorious contribution by many valiant freedom fighters.
The Rajya Sabha also paid respectful homage to all the martyrs and those who suffered untold sufferings during the freedom struggle. Leader of House Arun Jaitley said, India has adopted a multi-party democracy, electoral system and Parliamentary system.
Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad gave a detailed account of history of the Quit India movement and the contribution the Congress Working Committee and the Muslim League.
The House, later, unanimously adopted a resolution solemnly taking a pledge to uphold and safeguard the values and ideals of the freedom movement and re-dedicate to build an India that is strong, self-reliant, inclusive, secular and democratic.

The Quit India Movement was launched by the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi on 9th August, 1942, demanding an end to the British Rule in India, and then on 15th August, 1947 India became independent.
The National Archives of India is also organizing a special exhibition in New Delhi from today to mark Quit India Movement and Azad Hind Fauj. The two big events of the Indian history will be displayed through thousands of declassified files and documents.
In Uttar Pradesh, blood donation camps are being organised in all 75 districts of the state to mark the day. In Madhya Pradesh as well, different programmes are being organised. AIR correspondent reports that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will interact with youths in the evening.
In Tamil Nadu, freedom fighters still remember with pride, the spirit and patriotis imbibed by Mahatma Gandhi through Quit India Movement.

In the special programme, experts in the Delhi Studio will interact with experts in Guwahati, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Patna, Jammu, Manipur and Cuttack Studios. The programme can be heard on Rajdhani, FM Gold channels and additional frequencies.

Moving the Resolution at the end of the speeches by members of different political parties, Chairman Hamid Ansari said the House acknowledges that this day is also an occasion to recall with gratitude the sacrifices of millions of people and salute the memory of thousands of Indian, who gave their lives for the country’s freedom.
It observed that 75 years-ago, Mahatma Gandhi gave call for the British to Quit India and also gave the clarion call Do or Die to the Indian people to end the British Rule.
It also observed that the day should be remembered to be important the heroic struggle of the Indian people, students, peasants, women, workers and government officials who defied the brutal repression of the British Raj to launch mass Satyagraha that shook the very foundation of the British Rule.
NO VISA TO ENTER QUATAR
Qatar will allow visa-free entry for citizens of 80 countries, with immediate effect, Qatari officials announced today.
The countries include the UK, the USA, Canada, India, South Africa, Seychelles, Australia and New Zealand.
Citizens of those countries wishing to visit Qatar will not need to apply or pay for a visa; instead, a multi-entry waiver will be issued free-of-charge at the port of entry, upon presentation of a valid passport with a minimum validity of six months and a confirmed onward or return ticket.
Hassan Al Ibrahim, acting chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority said: “Qatar is now the most open country in the region.”
